Neil J. MacKinnon

    Neil J. MacKinnon received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1970 and was on faculty at the University of Minnesota until he returned to Canada to accept a position at the University of Guelph in 1972. He was a Visiting Scholar at the University of North Carolina in 1978-1979.
His areas of specialization include social psychology, quantitative methods, and contemporary theory. His research area is social psychology. He has just began a fourth SSHRC-funded projects in Affect Control Theory, an extension and formalization of Identity Theories in Symbolic Interactionism. He has just completed a three year term as a member of the Editorial Board of Social Psychology Quarterly.
